A Vision
I was standing amidst a fantastic sight,
Of a world shining with bright light,
Greenery was omnipresent,
The air was filled with the flowers scent,
The chirping of birds was mellifluous,
With the power of mesmerizing even the callous,
Equanimity was prevalent,
And the human element was sufficient,
It was nothing but a paradise,
With no words describing it being suffice.
Further ahead of the garden,
Was a beautiful breathtaking ocean,
The sun was casting its spell on the water,
And the blue sky was doing it even better,
As the dusk started to draw upon,
The sun gathered its rays to move on,
Darkness began to envelop everything,
Giving way to star-lit sky which was bewitching,
The moon was full of grace,
And the night advanced at its own pace.
Then came the dawn time,
The birds sang in a rhyme,
Suddenly dewdrops began to give way,
A land very different approached from far away,
It was nothing but a barren land,
With an unending stretch of sand,
The sight was unbearable,
But the truth was irreversible,
It all vanished in a flash,
When my sight with the rooftop clashed,
Soon came the realisation,
That we should be full of admiration,
The future lies in our own hands,
Whether the soothing meadows or the scorching sands.
This is a poem i wrote a few years back, in june 2001 to be precise. just chanced upon it today... and realised i havent written anything in a really long time now...
